Mission

Recognizing the important role that student life plays in supporting the co-curricular mission of Austin Peay and the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Student Life and Engagement strives to connect academic and out-of-class experiences through programming and leadership development that establishes a diverse, interactive, and responsive learning community. The Office of Student Life and Engagement prepares students to be citizen leaders with an understanding of the global community and a commitment to service.

Staff

Ashley Kautz, Director of Adult, Nontraditional, and Transfer Student Center (ANTS) and Interim Director of Student Life and Engagement

Ashley transferred to 365bet and received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Following undergrad, Ashley started her higher education career in Enrollment Management; there she worked as an Admissions Counselor to recruit students. This experience working with students who were navigating the enrollment process is what motivated Ashley to continue to work to minimize enrollment and engagement barriers for students. Before coming to Student Affairs, Ashley obtained her Master of Arts in Higher Education: Student Personnel from the University of Mississippi. When not working, Ashley loves to travel, read, thrift, and spend time outdoors with her husband and son.

MaryGrace Johnson, Coordinator for Programs and Special Events

MaryGrace Johnson joined the SLE team as the Coordinator of Programs and Special Events in June 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and graduated from James Madison University in Spring 2022 with her Master’s degree in Higher Education with a concentration in Counseling. Before returning to grad school, MaryGrace worked at HCA Healthcare as a Recruiting Administration Specialist. Throughout her graduate program she worked in Student Involvement Programming where she assisted with the programming board and created her own series of crafting events. She also worked in Health Promotion where she hosted the Well Dukes podcast and provided programming on sexual and relationship health, eating disorder awareness, and interpersonal violence prevention. In her free time she enjoys crafting, building furniture, and playing with her Golden Retriever, Knox (Go Vols!)

Zac Moore, Coordinator for Leadership and Student Organizations

Zac Moore holds a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. Zac joined the Student Life and Engagement team in September of 2022. Prior to coming to Austin Peay State University, Zac worked at Piedmont University as the Director of Student Life and Leadership and Title IX Coordinator. 

Zac has been involved with many professional associations including the NODA (the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Rentention), the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA), a volunteer and training facilitator for his fraternity Phi Gamma Delta, and holds certifications in CliftonStrengths training, Safe Zone, and ATIXA.

Lindsy Perry, Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Affairs

Lindsy Perry joined SLE in May 2021 and currently oversees Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. She graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication with an organizational leadership and conflict resolution focus. During her time at Illinois State University, she became a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Lindsy then persuaded her Masters of Science from Southern Illinois University in Higher Education Administration. During her time in graduate school, she worked for Tau Delta Phi Fraternity as Chapter Leadership Consultant. Lindsy's student affairs background includes Disability Support Services, Diversity and Advocacy, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Programming, and Leadership. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, roller-skating, connecting with friends and listening to podcasts. 

Yanaraliz Barnes, Latino Community Resource Center Director

Yanaraliz (Pronounced Jana-raa-leez) Barnes joined the SLE team in August 2019 as the Coordinator of the Latino Community Resource Center (LCRC). In January 2022, Yanaraliz became the Director of the LCRC.  In her current role at 365bet, she serves as an advocate for the Latinx community and consistently works on developing initiatives centered on recruitment, retention, and graduation.  She also oversees the direction of the programs, events, and services provided by the LCRC.

Yanaraliz was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and at the age of 15, she relocated with her family to Florida, which became a second home. In the fall of 2012, Yanaraliz became a founding member of the Sigma Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Incorporated. In May 2015, she graduated from Saint Leo University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management. Through her involvement during her undergraduate career and the mentorship she received, Yanaraliz developed a passion for student affairs. As a result, Yanaraliz graduated with a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University in May 2017.  Yanaraliz's interests include spending time with her family, playing with her two dogs, and traveling.

Allison Booker, Administrative Assistant III

Allison was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Clarksville in March of 2023. Allison joined the SLE team in May of 2023 as the Administrative Assistant III. She is currently finishing up her Bachelors degree at 365bet. In her free time she enjoys bicycling, crafting, and travelling with her husband.
